We, as Media Technology & IT department, are responsible for all media-related technology within the Red Bull Media House operating over a hundred different tools and services reaching from our self-developed media platform to one of the most technically advanced TV studios in Europe.

Job Description

ENGINEERING & EXECUTION

In this exciting role you’ll design, implement and operate new applications and services in our inhouse post-production, broadcast setup and TV studio setup. You’ll have special attention on automation, maintenance, operation, security and reliability. Bringing in your technical background in the cloud and media domain you’ll support in moving our media workflows into the public cloud as well as designing and building new ones.

You’ll become a strong member within a self-organizing team living agile methodologies organized following the Spotify model. We apply CAMS, automating if possible, measuring results, sharing feedback and respecting each other.

DISCOVER & INNOVATE

To ensure future growth, you’ll identify emergent technology trends and opportunities. You’ll visit leading conferences in the domain of media- as well as cloud engineering. You’ll come up with build or buy decisions based on feasibility studies and business cases, taking technical solutions options, costs and possible business value into account. Keep a close eye on the market landscape for insights, directions, vendors and methods.

QUALITY & AUTOMATION

Quality and security aspects are in your focus when it comes to building new solutions in our post-production, broadcast and TV studio setup. You’re aiming for continuous delivery, trying to automate workflows wherever possible to improve efficiency and to ensure operability in case of an incident.

Qualifications

Knowledge about modern automation patterns and tooling (Terraform, Cloud Formation, Ansible, Kubernetes, HyperV, KVM, and so on)

Practical experience in the area of media technology (especially post-production, broadcast or TV studio field)

Experience in software engineering (using a common programming language) as well as application of modern software engineering paradigms (pull requests, code reviews, pair programming, and so on)

Interest in modern monitoring- and alerting technologies (like Datadog, Grafana, Kibana or similar)

Practical experience using cloud services (ideally Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud (GCP))

Communicative team player with an analytical mind-set

Be able to drive topics and eager to learn new technologies

Due to legal reasons we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary according to the collective agreement for this position, which is EUR 2,181 gross per month. However, our attractive compensation package is based on market-oriented salaries and is therefore significantly above the stated minimum salary.
